Visioning Retreat

This past weekend the Christ Church congregation gathered to vision for our future. Here are some of the results of our work together.

CHRIST CHURCH VALUES

  • Integrity (walk the talk)
  • Progressive Thinking (aspiring, not liberal)
  • Christian Church (value the Christian tradition; individuals are able to define what that means for them)
  • Openness to Growth (as congregation & individuals)
  • Empowerment of Children & Youth
  • Sacraments, Silence, Worship, & Music
  • Sense of Community (unconditional belonging & acceptance; caring for each other)
  • Inclusiveness
  • Knowledge
  • Outreach
  • Food
  • Fellowship
  • Questions (more than answers)
  • Financial Integrity
  • Boundaries (but not walls)
  • Safe Sanctuary
  • Diversity
CHRIST CHURCH VISIONS

Valuing Questions
  • We will honor your questions and support you as together we search for answers.
Progressive Thinking
  • We will become the epicenter of this neighborhood.
Worship
  • We will expand worship to encompass additional services, locales, & worship styles.
Community
  • We will nurture a "Cheers" type of atmosphere ("where everybody knows your name").
Fellowship
  • We will form an embracing community of faith based on deep interactions.
Inclusiveness
  • We will welcome you with open arms and encourage you to share what's inside of you.
Empowerment of Children & Youth
  • We will nurture social action for youth to create a safe space, get non-traditional tools to understand their faith journey, and include youth in the sanctuary and church life.
Christian Church
  • We will show the relevance of Christian traditions but provide something attendees can't get elsewhere.
Social Justice (Inclusiveness)
  • We will affirm the matrimony of all people.
